Damon Switch emulator for Android and iOS
Damon Switch Emulator is an experimental open-source application for play Nintendo Switch games on smartphone and tablet, built from the creators of Egg NS.
It is written in Java and C# with portability in mind, with builds actively maintained for iOS and Android.
Damon Switch emulator is capable of running most commercial games at full speed, provided you meet the necessary hardware requirements.
FEATURES
This application is made by the developers of the Nintendo Switch emulator Egg NS, with significant code shared between the projects; originally, Damon Switch emulator only supported test programs and homebrew.
Damon Switch emulator currently requires an OpenGL 4.6 capable GPU and a CPU that has high single-core performance.
It also requires a minimum of 6 GB of RAM; for more details, see the minimum system requirements written on the table below.
Since the Nintendo Switch is a complicated device controller input wise, you will need to change some input settings depending on the game you wish to play, on advanced settings menu.
- Input – They currently have support for keyboard, mouse, touch input, JoyCon input support emulated through the keyboard, and most controllers. Controller support varies by operating system, as outlined below.
Windows: Xinput-compatible controllers are supported natively; other controllers can be supported with the help of Xinput wrappers such as x360ce.
Linux: most modern controllers are supported.
In either case, you can set up everything inside the input configuration menu. - DLC & Modifications – This app is able to manage add-on content/downloadable content through the GUI. Mods (romfs, exefs, and runtime mods such as cheats) are also supported; the GUI contains a shortcut to open the respective mods folder for a particular game.
- Configuration – The emulator has settings for enabling or disabling some logging, remapping controllers, and more. You can configure all of them through the graphical interface or manually through the config file,
Config.json
, found in the user folder which can be accessed by clickingOpen Ryujinx Folder
under the File menu in the GUI.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
- OS
- Android (8.0 Lollipop or higher)
- iOS (9.0 or higher)
- Processor
- A processor with support for 64-bit applications (either ARMv8 or x86-64).
- Graphics
- A graphics processor that supports OpenGL ES 3.0 or higher. Performance varies heavily with driver quality.
- A graphics processor that supports standard GPU features is recommended for best performance.
The iOS version of Switch emulator is in alpha and should not be expected to work as well as the Android counterpart.
To run this emulator, we recommend that your devices have at least 6 GB of RAM (for Android OS); less than this amount can result in unpredictable behavior and may cause crashes or unacceptable performance.
