INFO
Skyline Emulator is an experimental open-source emulator for the Nintendo Switch from the creators of Citra.
It is written in C++ with portability in mind, with builds actively maintained for iOS and Android.
It’s licensed under the MPL.
Development
Most of the development happens on GitHub. It’s also where our central repository is hosted.
If you want to contribute please take a look at the Contributor’s Guide and Developer Information.
You should as well contact any of the developers on Discord in order to know about the current state of the emulator.
System requirements
As well, the emulator runs on Android 8.0 and up on 64-bit Android devices.
The iOS version of Switch emulator is in alpha and should not be expected to work as well as the Android counterpart.
6 GB or more is recommended. RAM speed or the amount of RAM generally has no effect on emulation speed.
CHANGE LOG
(Nearly everything, the project has reached it’s final structure)
- Memory Management
- NCE:
- Multiple Processes support
- Threading support
- Event loop driven so arbitrary tasks can be performed within cycles
- Support for KThread status and handling timeouts
- All functions now support a PID parameter
- Addition of comments to the codebase for every function and class in header files
- New Icon
- Signing of release APKs
- SVCs:
The latest stable version of Switch emulator is a good choice to start with: it works with a lot of games and is well tested.
Development versions have the latest fixes and optimizations, but their constantly changing nature means that little testing has been done on them and unknown bugs may appear.
